TimberTech PVC Decking vs. Fiberon Decking
In this article, we’re comparing both TimberTech PVC decking and Fiberon decking. Both brands create some of the most reputable and durable boards on the market and in this blog, we’re taking a look at some of the subtle differences between the two PVC variations. Let’s dive in!
Timbertech PVC Decking
TimberTech PVC deck boards are some of the industry’s leading PVC boards made of 100% virgin PVC core material with capping on all four sides and a top that is textured and coloured to mimic wood. The cap on the bottom side of the board is plain and not intended to be seen. The cap on the TimberTech board is incredibly durable, stain-resistant, and scratch-resistant, making it perfect for outdoor applications around the barbecue, moving furniture, and pets.
Homeowners can also feel good knowing that these boards are resistant to splitting and safe for little feet that may run across the deck throughout the year. When properly treated, PVC boards are shown to be safe against burning and fire and the plethora of shades offered in this range makes designing a deck easy and carefree for the homeowner.
Fiberon PVC Decking
Fiberon carries both PVC and composite deck boards. Their PVC range includes the Paramount and Promenade subcategories. The Promenade range is designed and capped on all four sides with the design consistent around all four sides. This makes it a great application for 2-story decks where you could admire the same wood-like look by viewing the underside of the deck boards from the lower level.
The Paramount range also passes the scratch test and carries a lovely pattern of embossing with three times more traction and grip than TimberTech’s making it ideal whether rain or shine. The Paramount range also carries a slightly better fire rating compared to other PVC boards and both PVC boards from Fiberon are incredibly durable, beautiful, and low maintenance.
Both TimberTech and Fiberon make exceptional PVC boards with roughly the same performance and a durability rating that lasts for decades. There are some slight distinctions including the colour variations offered as TimberTech carries a larger colour palette with more light and dark colour options while Fiberon only carries slight variations of neutral grays and browns. TimberTech and Fiberon are both beautiful little-to-no-maintenance options for customers with applications that are easy to install and even easier to live with!
